The portfolio aims to preserve capital at all times, whilst generating appropriate levels of interest income. The portfolio targets returns higher than those offered on bank deposits.

The portfolio invests in money market and short-dated fixed income securities issued by the South African government, corporates and banks. The portfolio may invest in listed and unlisted financial intruments as permitted by CISCA. These will be used for purposes of effiecient portfolio management, with the aim of reducing risk, reducing costs or generating capital or income for the portfolio with an acceptable level of risk or to achieve the investment pblective of the portfolio.
